SIPTU has agreed to attend discussions at the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) in Dublin on Tuesday 13th March in a renewed effort to resolve the long running dispute over redundancy payments at the Vita Cortex foam manufacturing plant in Cork.
The Vita Cortex workers occupying the plant on the Kinsale Road, Cork for almost 85 days have welcomed the invitation from the LRC today to enter discussions.
SIPTU Organiser, Ann Egar, said: "The workers represented by SIPTU in this dispute have welcomed the invitation by the LRC and hope it provides the opportunity to bring an end to this long and difficult battle to secure their agreed redundancy entitlements."
The workers are seeking their agreed redundancy payments of 0.9 weeks per year of service in addition to their statutory entitlements which they have already received.
