Teemore Engineering Expansion Welcomed By Minister

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has welcomed a £745,000 investment by Teemore Engineering aimed at expanding the company’s market presence in Great Britain.

The Fermanagh-based firm is a leading manufacturer and supplier of livestock housing equipment. It also distributes complementary housing products targeted primarily at the UK and Ireland’s commercial beef and dairy industries. Demand for these products is driven by legislative requirements to protect animal health and welfare in livestock housing.

Invest Northern Ireland has offered Teemore Engineering over £42,900 towards improving its production and market development capabilities. Seven new jobs will be created over the next two years as part of its investment, including a new production manager, export sales manager and skilled engineer.

Speaking at the opening of the company’s new premises, Arlene Foster said: "Teemore Engineering is a renowned family run business which has demonstrated its determination to sustain further growth within the agri-engineering sector by focusing on markets outside of Northern Ireland.

"The company’s move to a new purpose built 10,000sq ft premises is a major step forward for a firm which previously operated from three separate workshops. Its sizable investment supported by Invest NI will bring valuable employment opportunities and benefit both the local community and wider economy.

"Teemore Engineering is a valuable asset for the Fermanagh economy and the opening of its new premises is an acknowledgement of its commitment to the area and its confidence in the future. This move combined with enhanced marketing capabilities and a highly skilled management team will help Teemore Engineering to set strong foundations for its future growth in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland."

The firm has been established since 1974 and currently employs 25 staff.

Colin Wilson, Managing Director of Teemore Engineering, said: "Today's official opening of our new premises is a significant landmark in the history our company. Despite challenging market conditions we have sought to maintain a competitive position in order to secure new business. Invest NI's support will help us to capitalise on the significant potential sales we have identified in Great Britain. Over the coming months, we plan to undertake market development visits and build on our company’s reputation among influential distributors in a bid to grow our market share."
