Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has announced funding of over £167,000 towards a Neighbourhood Renewal Coordinator in Omagh for a further three years.
Mr McCausland said: "This project will provide real and significant benefits to people in the Omagh Neighbourhood Renewal Area.
"The funding of a Neighbourhood Renewal Development Officer and administrative support officer for the Omagh area will help to develop and implement projects, with a view to creating a more socially inclusive, empowered and sustainable community infrastructure.
"By contributing to this project my department is demonstrating its continued commitment to improving the quality of life and social conditions for people living in Omagh."
The Coordinator will liaise with applicants, programme delivery agents and stakeholders to ensure projects are developed and delivered in accordance with the objectives of the plans. They will also report progress on the implementation of the plans to the Omagh Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership and any associated Working Groups.
