Dobbins Supports Social Housing Development

SDLP Derry City Cllr Angela Dobbins has voiced her support for Apex Housing’s planning application for 76 social houses in the Racecourse Road area of Derry.

The Shantallow Cllr said: "There is a very real need for social housing in the Shantallow area and throughout Derry with many people in housing stress.

"I would like to commend all those involved in bringing this application forward for the development of 76 new homes on a vacant site next to Bradley’s Pass on Racecourse Road.

"If this development is given the green light, it will be a good boost for the construction industry and will be a step in the right direction to tackle the social housing shortage which exists in our city.

"I am glad to see that the developers have included single and 1.5 storey dwellings in their plans including dwellings apt for disabled and elderly people."
