Aisling Cooney, one of Ireland's best known Olympians, has teamed up with Ireland’s leading wood pellet manufacturer Balcas to demonstrate the growing popularity of its premium quality brites fuel.
Since its launch in 2005, enough brites have been delivered in Ireland and the UK to fill over 280 Olympic sized swimming pools, just like the one at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin. That's an average of 40 Olympic sized pools every year and demand for this carbon neutral product is still continuing to rise.
Uniquely manufactured using renewable energy, brites currently provide the heating and hot water requirements for over 3,500 homes and private and public sector organisations, including many leisure centres. The benefits offered by using brites includes significant savings on energy bills and a reduction in carbon and CO2 emissions, which help is helping the drive towards achieving renewable energy targets.
