Mr. Phil Hogan T.D, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, has approved Fingal County Council's proposal for an Advance Works Contract for the GDRDP : Blanchardstown Sewerage Scheme.
The contract is being funded under his Department’s Water Services Investment Programme 2010-2013.
The proposed works involve the installation of permanent flowmeters in seven different locations.) to meter flows into and out of the Fingal county Council area, including inflows from Meath County Council and outflows to Dublin City Council. Two existing flowmeters will also be replaced as part of the remedial works.
“The information gathered by the flowmeters will assist in controlling flows into the main sewer”, said the Minister” and will further enhance the management of the drainage areas.”
This approval clears the way for Fingal County Council to progress the contract through to tender stage. “I will be pressing the Council to progress this contract as soon as possible,” said the Minister.
