The Irish construction industry is continuing to struggle according to the latest Ulster Bank Construction PMI for July 2012.
Both activity and new business fell at faster rates than previous months.
Simon Barry is the Chief Economist with Ulster Bank explains: “The results of this survey are disappointing because they’re telling us that the construction sector is continuing to struggle. and it’s continuing to deteriorate. One of the main areas of deterioration is the new orders area, which is telling us about the levels of new business that new firms are seeing., or in this case not seeing. So new orders are at their weakest level in about two and a half years.”
