Planning Application Lodged For Banbridge Bus Station

SDLP Upper Bann MLA Dolores Kelly has meet with a cross-party delegation from Banbridge council and Stephen Moutray during the regional development committee at Stormont.

She said: "Last June I pressed the Minister for Regional Development on what economic appraisals were being undertaken to put in a new bus station in Banbridge. I am very disappointed in the lack of progress on this issue.

"Over 1000 children require a daily bus service in Banbridge and from a health and safety perspective a bus station is a necessity. Furthermore Banbridge is the main arterial route from Belfast to Dublin and improved transport accessibility is required on this key route.

"I will continue to press the Minister for a bus station in the town which will also bring great economic benefits. Planning application has been lodged and a business case from the department has been devised which I hope will help secure a bus station for the people of Banbridge."
