Following the announcement that Airtricity Gas NI Ltd, is to maintain its prices, firmus energy has confirmed that it will freeze prices for more than 40,000 customers across Northern Ireland.

A spokesperson for firmus energy, confirmed: "There will be no price increases for firmus energy natural customers in our network area or to the discount currently offered to customers in greater Belfast. By freezing our prices we are continuing our commitment to remain the lowest-cost natural gas supplier."

According to the Utility Regulator's August 2012 report, firmus energy natural gas customers are enjoying the 'cheapest natural gas in the UK'.

The spokesperson continued: "Despite the volitile market, we have locked down our prices for 12 months until at least October 2013 or until the end of discount periods. This means that regardless of where you live in Northern Ireland, natural gas from firmus energy, where available, is still the cheapest traditional method of heating your home."
