NI Water is has announced that a £3.6 million Watermains Improvement Scheme will get underway shortly in counties Fermanagh and Tyrone.
The majority of the work will take place in Enniskillen, Belcoo and a few schemes will take place in the Omagh area. Work will commence in November 2012 and will continue until November 2013.
A lot of the current watermains in these areas are ageing and in poor condition and require urgent upgrading. The work is good news for the local areas, as the upgraded watermains will improve the reliability of water supply, drinking water quality and will help reduce leakage. It will also reduce the number of bursts, particularly over the winter months and will improve the general infrastructure in the Fermanagh and Tyrone areas.
NI Water and its contractor Farrans Construction would like to thank the public in advance for their patience and cooperation and would like to assure them that we will complete this essential work as quickly as possible with minimum disruption.
