Car Dealer Fined For Waste Offences

The owner of a Newtownards car dealership has been fined fined £300 plus £22 court costs at Newtownards Magistrates' Court for unauthorised waste activities.

Mr Brian Barritt (64) trading as FB Motors, West Street, Newtownards pleaded guilty to one offence of allowing an unauthorised dealer to remove scrap metal from his premises.

This conviction was secured through the Strategic Partnership between the PSNI and Northern Ireland Environment Agency, whereby Mr Barritt was interviewed by PSNI officers, and NIEA took the case forward given the environmental offences committed.
