Phil Hogan, T.D., Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government has announced that he has given sanction for Ballyhoura Development Ltd to approve funding of €351,521 to Caherconlish Caherline Community Council Ltd for the extension of Caherconlish Caherline Community Centre (The Millennium Centre).
It is under the Basic Services for the Economy and Rural Population measure of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.
Announcing the funding Minister Hogan said: "This project will be of immense benefit to Caherconlish and Caherline with its total project costs of €468,695. I know it will improve the quality of life and will strengthen the social and economic fabric for all the areas inhabitants."
The Minister added: "The project will now go back to the Board of Ballyhoura Development Ltd for the final approval on the project. This is in line with the EU’s “bottom-up” approach to rural development."
