Airtricity Presents Over £60,000 In Community Funding

Airtricity has presented more than £60,000 in community funding to local groups in Counties Fermanagh and Tyrone from its Community Funds for the Bessy Bell, Bin Mountain and Tappaghan Wind Farms.

The funding presentation from Airtricity's 2012 Community Fund took placeat a ceremony held at the Mellon Country Inn, Omagh, Co. Tyrone.

Under its Community Fund Programme, Airtricity makes a financial contribution from each of its wind farms across Northern Ireland to help local energy efficiency and sustainability projects.

Airtricity is awarding 15 community projects promoting energy-efficiency and sustainability from across the region, including projects in Ardstraw, Aghyaran, Castlederg, Drumkeen, Drumquin, Ederney, Irvinstown and Omagh. The projects being supported by Airtricity Community Funds include:

•replacement windows and doors at Ardstraw Village Hall;

•attic insulation at Ardstraw and Baronscourt Youth Council Parish Hall and the Omagh Forum Community House, Omagh;

•a financial contribution towards energy-efficient outdoor lighting for the Killclogher St. Mary's / Cappagh GAA club running track;

•insulation of external walls at the Dunmullan Rural Community Hall;

•a financial contribution towards replacement windows and doors at Drumagh Parish Church Hall and Dunclamp Parish Hall;

•attic insulation and replacement doors for Ederney St. Joseph's GAA club house;

•new windows and attic and cavity wall insulation at the Old Scraghey School House on behalf of the Scraghey and District Community Development Association;

•the installation of energy-efficient lighting for Glassmullagh Orange Hall;

•a financial contribution towards insulation for Aghyaran Community Fitness Hub;

•a financial contribution toward the Kirlish Ulster Scots solar panel project at the Drumqin Orange Hall;

•a financial contribution for Tedd Cross and District Community Association towards the installation of energy-efficient outdoor lighting at the Tedd Hall; and

•a financial contribution towards LED lighting at the Lowe Langfield Church of Ireland on behalf of the Langfield Development Association.
