Community And Cultural Centre To Be Developed In Co Clare

Sanction has been given for Clare Local Development Company to approve funding of €386,193, to Kilkishen Development Limited for the development of a Community and Cultural Centre at Kilkishen, Co Clare, under the Conservation and upgrading of the Rural Heritage and the Basic Services for the Economy and Rural Population measures of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.

Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government Phil Hogan said: "This project will be of immense benefit to Kilkishen with it’s total project costs of €520,000. There will be two elements to the development, consisting of the conservation and refurbishment of the existing 19th century stone Church, together with the construction of a new extension. I know it will improve the quality of life and will strengthen the social and economic fabric for all the areas inhabitants."
