SDLP Councillor Tim Attwood has welcomed the publication by Ulster GAA of the new design concept for the 38,000 seated Casement Park stadium.

Cllr Tim Attwood said: "I warmly welcome the publication of the new design concept for the redevelopment of Casement Stadium. This is a unique opportunity to develop an iconic national stadium which not only benefits the GAA family but also provides unique health, leisure and business opportunities for the whole community.

"It is important to note that the design team have taken aboard comments and concerns from local residents and the wider community. There is now a need to intensify community engagement with local residents and other partners to try to address outstanding issues, identify positive community facilities within the stadium and maximise the regeneration opportunities for the local economy."
