Resurfacing Scheme To Begin In Ballybogey

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy announced the start of a £140,000 major resurfacing scheme on B67 Benvardin Road, Ballybogey, Co Antrim, in mid March.

The work is due to begin on 18 March 2013, from Ballyclogh Road, west towards Ballybogey for approximately 1.5km.

The Minister said: "This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the carriageway on part of this important road between Coleraine and Ballycastle."

To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses the majority of this work is programmed to be completed using lane closures.

A full closure of the Benvardin Road will be in place from 20-22 March to facilitate the final surfacing works. During this closure a signed traffic diversion via Castlecatt Road, Knock Road, Frosses Road and Ballybogey Road will be in operation for through traffic. The scheme is expected to be substantially completed on 22 March 2013.
