Phil Hogan, T.D., Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, has announced that he has given sanction to Leitrim Integrated Development Company to approve funding of €333,935.25 to Fenagh Development Company Ltd. to refurbish and extend the existing community centre in Fenagh, which was built in the 1970s.
The estimated total project cost is €445,247, and the funding is being provided under the Basic Services for the Economy and Rural Population measure of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.
Minister Hogan said: "I am delighted that the Rural Development Programme is in a position to support Fenagh Development Company Ltd. in this major refurbishment and extension of their community centre which, given the poor condition of the existing hall, is essential if the centre is to continue to meet local community needs."
The LEADER elements of the Rural Development Programme currently offer, and will continue to offer, significant financial resources to communities all over Ireland. With a budget of €105 million for 2013, it is critically important that communities continue to come up with ideas that will reinvigorate their localities and avail of the resources available to develop all aspects of their communities into the future.
