Energia Recognised As A 'Great Place To Work'

Independent energy provider, Energia has been recognised as one of the Top 20 Best Large Workplaces 2013 at the Great Place to Work Awards in the Burlington Hotel last night.

Energia, which is the Irish retail electricity and gas division of Viridian, the largest independent energy company in the all-Ireland market was named the 19th Best Large Workplace in Ireland 2013.

Employing 260 people, with offices in Dublin, Galway, Cork, Belfast and Omagh, the Energia Group which comprises of Energia Supply, Energia Renewables and Energia Generation has an annual turnover of €1 billion and a 28% market share of the Irish business electricity and gas market, supplying the energy needs of over 65,000 business customers.

Energia powers all public lighting in Ireland, one third of all shops and 60% of all schools and colleges. To date Energia has made €700 million investments in power generation including power stations and renewable energy from wind farms.

Commenting on the Great Place to Work Award, Gary Ryan, Energia Retail Director said: "As Ireland's leading business energy supplier we are delighted to be recognised in the Top 20 Best Large Workplace in 2013. In Energia we pride ourselves on our commitment to innovation, renewable energy, job creation and continued investment in the Irish energy market.
