As part of its commitment to improve energy efficiency across Northern Ireland, the Housing Executive (NIHE) is installing brand new gas central heating systems in 110 flats in South and East Belfast at a cost of over £370,000.
The Economy 7 heating systems will be replaced with new natural gas systems.
The South and East Belfast Area Manager, Carole Johnston, explained: "The Housing Executive remains committed to maintaining its housing stock to a modern standard and as a result of this scheme 110 homes in South and East Belfast will be more energy efficient.
"Housing Executive staff will work closely with our contractor to ensure that the tenants involved in the scheme are kept up-to-date and that all work is carried out to the high standard that we all expect."
Carillion Energy Services is responsible for the installation of all new heating systems in Housing Executive homes in Belfast.
Carrillion's Programme Manager, Trish Whiteway, added: "We can assure all the Housing Executive tenants involved in the scheme that work will be carried out to the highest possible standard and with the minimum of disruption."
