The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Mr. Phil Hogan T.D, has outlined his support for Earth Hour 2013.

He said: "Earth Hour is now in its fifth year and continues to focus worldwide attention on the need for action to protect and improve our environment. Earth Hour is an important initiative, which provides an opportunity for the public to show their concern for environmental issues."

Earth Hour took place on Saturday 23rd March between 8.30pm and 9:30pm.

Earth Hour is a global initiative which aims to highlight the need for action to tackle the world's environmental challenges, including climate change.
