O'Halloran Wins Eirgrid Award

Gary O'Halloran is the winner of the EirGrid Award for high achievement in the area of sustainable energy engineering.

Mr O'Halloran, from Mallow, Co. Cork, completed his M.Eng.Sc (Masters in Sustainable Energy) from University College Cork (UCC).

He visited the EirGrid National Control Centre where he was presented with the Award by the EirGrid Chief Executive.

Mr. O’Halloran achieved the highest grade of his Masters group for his thesis

'Coordinated Optimal Control of a Cascaded Multi-hydro System', focussing on the area of control engineering.

EirGrid Group is the operator the electricity transmission grid in Ireland and in Northern Ireland and of the wholesale power market.
