A Conference on the future sustainable regeneration of Docklands is concluding today Friday 3rd May 2013 at The Gibson Hotel, Point Village, Dublin 1.
The Conference will focus on the wider Docklands area addressing key themes such as the Economy, Education and Employment; Community Identity and Neighbourhoods; and will look towards achieving a Healthy, Clean Green Unique Maritime Environment for the Docklands area.
The Conference brings together approximately 150 influential delegates, mainly from residential, business and educational communities in the Docklands area. The potential for a shared approval for the continued regeneration of the Docklands for the benefit of the whole community and the city will be discussed.
According to Dick Gleeson, City Planner, said: "This conference will explore ways of productive engagement between the City Council and the Docklands communities to achieve the sustainable, social, physical and economic revival of the area following the dissolution of the Docklands Authority last November. We hope to gain insights into the challenges and opportunities in the draft Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) planning scheme for the North Lotts and Grand Canal Dock Area, currently on public display."
