A €282 million road improvement project gets underway with works on the N7 and N11 being officially started by transport minister, Leo Varadker.
On the N7 a bottleneck at Newlands Cross will be removed, while the N11 between Arklow and Rathnew will be upgraded to four-lanes.
The work on the N7 will add a new flyover, removing the last traffice light between Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Northern Ireland.
The N11 will also get a new service station on the Gorey bypass.
The project is expected to be completed in two years.
