Finance Minister Sammy Wilson has welcomed the announcement that NAMA are providing £15m funding to complete a landmark office development in Belfast.
Mr Wilson said: "This is a very welcome announcement by NAMA and is evidence once again of the positive role being played by the Agency in Northern Ireland.
"It is also a clear vote of confidence in the local economy in Belfast as these office buildings at Lanyon Plaza will have the capacity to accommodate around 1,750 people once completed. Furthermore, the construction and fit-out phase will also generate substantial work for locally based companies creating further opportunities within the construction industry.
"Lanyon Plaza and the surrounding buildings including the Waterfront Hall are landmark buildings for Belfast City Centre and today’s announcement will ensure that Lanyon Plaza will not now be lying idle. This is very positive news in what has been a very positive week for Northern Ireland around today’s latest job announcement with the creation of 416 jobs, the G8 summit and President Obama's visit.
"The NAMA Chairman Frank Daly has indicated that the Agency is keen to finance further projects in Northern Ireland and I would encourage all those with viable proposals to bring those to NAMA and to take full advantage of the funding that is being made available."
