SDLP Councillor Brian Heading has called for more information on plans for a waste transfer station in west Belfast.
Councillor Heading said: "I understand that Whitemountain Quarries have applied to bring forward a waste transfer station to treat hazardous waste.
"There needs to be clarification on what type of waste will be treated. Given the high population density it is imperative that we have a clear idea of what type of waste will be processed and whether it is safe to carry out work in this area.
"It is also important that any transportation of untreated waste should take place at a time when there is less traffic on the roads, so that there is minimum disruption to road users."
