Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £170,000 major resurfacing scheme on B16 Garryduff Road, Ballymoney.
The work is due to begin on 23 July 2013, between Burnquarter Road and Glenlough Road. The length of the scheme is approximately 1.4 kilometres.
The Minister said: "This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the carriageway on this important road between Ballymoney and Dunloy."
To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses some of this work is programmed to be completed using lane closures.
A full closure of the Garryduff Road will be required on 23-24 July 2013 for the first stage of the resurfacing works. During this closure a signed traffic diversion via Burnquarter Road, Frosses Road, Lislagan Road, Bravallen Road and Old Ballymena Road will be in operation for through traffic. Dates for another full road closure for the second stage of the works will be confirmed in due course.
The scheme is expected to be substantially completed by mid August 2013.
The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions.
