Work To Begin On Antrim Road Footbridge

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy announced the start of a £47,000 strengthening scheme on the Antrim Road footbridge from its junction with the U6102 Antrim Road to Lisburn Road car park.

The work is due to begin on Thursday 1 August 2013.

The Minister said: "Benefits of the scheme are to maintain the all environments paint system and provide a new pedestrian anti-slip / waterproofing resin to the deck."

To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses the work is programmed to be completed using a temporary bridge closure.

An alternative route will be via U6102 Antrim Road, B7 Dromore Street, A24 High Street.
