O'Dwyer Property Management, Ireland's leading property and facility management company, has negotiated a major new 18 month electricity deal for its client's property portfolio with Ireland's greenest electricity provider, Energia.

The deal worth €1.3 million will see Energia supply electricity to a large portfolio of mixed unit/multi unit developments managed by O'Dwyer. The electricity will power the internal and external lighting, the lifts, and other equipment within their common areas.

Their competitive priced energy achieves further cost savings for our clients. Electricity is one of the highest cost categories within a multi-unit or mixed use development and by competitively tendering out our client portfolio we have bulk purchased and achieved real savings in the running costs which translate into savings in the cost of the service charges payable by the owners and occupiers.

Electricity represents 8 - 10% of the cost of service charges and our firm's energy consumption analysis and management is focused on minimising costs and achieving real efficiencies and savings for our clients. Procurement is part of our professional management service and this deal with Energia delivers electricity to our client developments at 20% below the bulk market rate. We have fixed the price for 18 months as a secondary benefit to protect clients against expected fluctuations in the energy market and this is a great benefit to our clients in the current economic climate."
