Mr Arthur Magill of Sallybush Road, Newtownabbey, has been fined £400, plus £49 court costs, at Belfast Magistrates' Court for a breach of waste management legislation.
On 25 August 2011, officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) investigated a site, owned by Mr Magill, on the Sallybush Road where a substantial quantity of scrap metal was deposited, along with concrete, plastics and wood.
Mr Magill pleaded guilty to one charge of keeping controlled waste without holding the necessary waste management licence.
