SDLP Deputy Leader Dolores Kelly has said the Land Transfer agreement must be completed for Laurencetown play park.
The Upper Bann MLA and her colleague, Knockiveagh Councillor Seamus Doyle, has said the Housing Executive must not delay any further.
Ms Kelly said: "It is imperative that the land transfer agreement be completed in respect of Laurencetown play park. Play is of utmost importance in the early development of children and would be a fantastic boost for the community.
"The funding is in place to improve play facilities and the hold-up appears to be from the Lands Department in the Housing Executive.
"The reason given for the delay in processing the agreement is that the Lands Department operates only two days a week. This is a totally unacceptable excuse and has the potential to jeopardise funding which is in place.
"I will be raising this matter with the Minister for Social Development Nelson McCausland and impressing on him the need to ensure there is no further delay on the land transfer agreement for this vital facility."
