Transport Minister Danny Kennedy announced the start of a £300,000 resurfacing scheme on Comber Road, Lisburn.
The work is due to begin on 1 Oct 2013 between Ravarnet Road and Upper Ballynahinch Road.
The Minister said: "This scheme will increase the life of the road, greatly improving the strength and ride quality of the carriageway along this busy route."
Works on Comber Road will start each morning from approximately 9.30am and continue until 4.30pm each evening. During these works traffic will be restricted to one lane for two weeks. A full closure for a further three weeks will be in place from 16 October to facilitate the final phase of the works and ensure the safety of road users and the operation on site. A full diversion route will be signed accordingly.
The scheme is expected to be complete by 6 November 2013.
