New Footway Opens In Castlereagh

Minister Danny Kennedy has announced completion of a £100,000 scheme to provide a new footway in Castlereagh.

The new footway on the Manse Road between Church Road and Lagan College is 0.7km in length.

Speaking on a visit to the site, where the Minister met with the Principal and pupils of Lagan College and a representative from Patrick Bradley Ltd, the contractor who carried out the work, the Minister said: "This footway scheme will improve safety for Lagan College school children and local pedestrians along this rural road.

"Roads Service is currently developing proposals for further improvements to Church Road, Castlereagh, which will help to provide a continuous footway between the school and the local housing area off Ballygowan Road."
