Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £144,000 major resurfacing scheme on Mill Road/Main Street, Doagh.
Work is due to begin on Wednesday 30 October between Ballymena Road and Kilbride Road.
The Minister said: "This scheme will deliver important improvements to this busy road and will increase the life of the road, greatly improving the strength and ride quality of the carriageway."
To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses the majority of this work is programmed to be completed during the Halloween school holiday and at weekends.
Lane closures will operate during the periods: Tuesday 5 November to Friday 8 November; Monday 11 November to Friday 15 November and Monday 18 November to Friday 22 November.
Full closures of Mill Road/Main Street will be in place from Wednesday 30 October to Monday 4 November, from Saturday 9 November to Sunday 10 November and from Saturday 16 November to Sunday 17 November. Traffic will be diverted via Main Street - Ballyclare Road - Rashee Road - Cogry Road - Bridge Road - Mill Road.
The scheme is expected to be completed on 22 November 2013.
