Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy announced that a £350,000 improvement scheme for the A46 will start on 28th October 2013.
The scheme will involve reconstruction and resurfacing on Loughshore Road at Slawin on the main route between Enniskillen and Belleek. The work is expected to take around 10 weeks to complete.
Other improvements will include verge and road widening, drainage improvements and the provision of a crash barrier over a section of the A46 in the townland of Slawin.
Mr Kennedy said: "This scheme will greatly improve the road surface and safety of this narrow section of the A46."
Site clearance is already ongoing. Works are planned to be carried out without a road closure, however, for safety reasons traffic control will be necessary and road users should expect some delays.
