Environment Minister Mark H. Durkan has announced planning approval for an Irish speaking school in Crumlin.
The grant of planning permission for Gaelscoil Ghleann Darach clears the way planning wise to relocate to a new purpose-built facility on the edge of Crumlin.
The Irish-medium school has existed in Crumlin for over 10 years and has, to date, occupied prefabricated mobile classrooms on the Glenavy Road in Crumlin, with an additional two classrooms housed in Crumlin Integrated College.
Mr Durkan said: "This planning approval is positive news for Crumlin and for the teachers, parents and pupils of Gaelscoil Ghleann Darach.
"I have often said that my aim is to ensure a better environment and a stronger economy but I want to demonstrate that I will also give priority to development proposals which bring infrastructural and social improvements. This application was turned around in eight weeks and demonstrates again that planning reforms are delivering real changes."
