Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that a £200,000 major improvement scheme for the B50 Drumquin Road four kilometres south of Castlederg is scheduled to begin on Monday 20 January.
Resurfacing of 1,150 metres of the main Castlederg to Drumquin to Omagh road will take place from 400 metres north of the Carncorran Road junction with the B50 to 750 metres south of the junction.
Mr Kennedy said: "The scheme will strengthen and improve the quality of the carriageway on this important section of road between Castlederg and Drumquin and road users will quickly realise the benefits of this significant investment."
Due to the restricted carriageway width available on the Drumquin Road, and to help minimise congestion between the site works and through traffic, it will be necessary to close the section while work in underway.
The closure is planned to come into operation on Monday 3 February and last until the scheme is substantially completed on Friday 7 February.
