The Lord Mayor, Oisín Quinn and Managing Director of ESB Networks, Jerry O'Sullivan, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which sets out the procedures to deal with dumping and graffiti at unmanned ESB Networks sub-stations in Dublin City.
Among the key features are:
• ESB Networks will remove any litter within 5 working days of being notified by Dublin City Council.
• Any graffiti issue will be addressed within 10 working days (racist or other provocative graffiti will be removed within 5 working days).
• Dublin City Council will work with ESB Networks to tackle any recurring problems.
The Lord Mayor said: "Our city is of vital importance to the people of Dublin and to our visitors, so we need all the assistance we can get to reduce litter. This is an important new partnership and I am delighted Dublin City are taking the lead in this initiative and would recommend that all local authorities follow suit."
