New Distillery For Teeling Whiskey Company

Fine Gael Dublin South Central TD, Catherine Byrne, has welcomed the announcement of a €10 million investment by the Teeling Whiskey Company in a new distillery and visitor centre at Newmarket Square in Dublin's Liberties.

The distillery will create over 30 new jobs as well as 50 jobs in the construction phase.

"I am delighted that the Teeling Whiskey Company has decided to make such a significant investment in the Liberties area. This will be the first new distillery in Dublin in over 125 years and it is appropriate that Teelings have chosen the Liberties as their home, considering it has long been associated with small distilleries and breweries.

"The Government has particularly targeted the food and drink industry as part of the Action Plan for Jobs. The new distillery will start production in the fourth quarter of this year and will provide a boost for employment growth in the area."
