Education Minister, John O'Dowd, has attended the official opening of a new school building for Lagan College in Belfast.
The new building represents a capital investment of £25m and is part of the Public Private Partnership project.
The Minister said: "It is a pleasure for me to help Lagan College celebrate the official opening of their new school building and I would like to thank all involved with the school for their invitation and warm welcome.
"The school has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 1981 when 28 pupils were educated in a Scout Hall. I am sure that none of them could have imagined that over 30 years later around 1,250 pupils would attend the school and they would be housed in this wonderful state-of-the-art building.
"The new school building provides a wonderful environment for the current pupils and future generations to develop and learn in."
