Creggan Country Park is a social economy business which has developed a green space on the northern outskirts of Londonderry. The Park runs a programme of outdoor activities which encourage active lifestyle. They also run environmental and educational programmes which combine to provide a platform for the creation of opportunities for volunteering, employment and training for the local community. Creggan Country Park places a high emphasis on maintaining the environment through the use of sustainable practices and renewable energy technologies.

Minister McCausland said: "This funding will be used to upgrade the heating system in the Park’s main building making it fit for purpose. This will promote enhanced economic and environmental sustainability by reducing energy and running costs and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Creggan Country Park are committed to maintaining the environment through the use of sustainable practices and renewable energy technologies."
