£380,000 Funding To Resurface A2 Garron Road

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced a £380,000 scheme to resurface 3.2km of the A2 Garron Road, Carnlough.

The Minister said: "The much anticipated Giro D'Italia has chosen the A2 Antrim Coast Road as one of its key stages and this illustrates its importance in terms of tourism growth within Northern Ireland. My Department remains committed to playing our part in its continued maintenance and development."

The works are planned to begin on Monday 17 March 2014 and weather permitting will be completed within two weeks. To ensure the safety of the road user and contractors during the works, road closures will be necessary. Roads Service appreciate the inconvenience caused by any road closures however the adjacent Tower Road will serve as a suitable diversionary route.
