Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has announced an investment of £210,000 to upgrade footways and carriageways at Lone Moor Road and Stanley's Walk in the Brandywell area of L'Derry.
Announcing the funding Minister McCausland said: "This investment of £210,000, by the Northern Ireland Executive through my Department, will enable the footways and carriageways in the Brandywell area of Londonderry to be upgraded. The work, which will be carried out by colleagues in the Department for Regional Development, will enhance both the Lone Moor Road and Stanley’s Walk. Work is due to begin in early May 2014 and will be completed within six weeks."
Commenting on the planned works, Roads Minister Danny Kennedy added: "This work is indicative of our Departments’ on-going commitment to maintain and upgrade the road infrastructure in the Londonderry area, as we continue to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. Temporary traffic management arrangements will be required and I would ask for the patience and co-operation of both residents and road users for the duration of this work."
