Improvement Scheme Announced For Bloomfield Road

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that a £288,000 road improvement scheme for Bloomfield Road in Belfast is scheduled to begin on Monday 12 May 2014.

The resurfacing scheme, between Grand Parade and Beersbridge Road is expected to be complete in early July 2014.

Mr Kennedy said: "The scheme will provide greatly improved carriageway and footway surfaces."

To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors, a one-way road closure from Grand Parade towards Beersbridge Road, will be necessary from Monday 12 May at 6am. The closure will remain in place for the duration of the scheme.

Diversion routes will be clearly signed via North Road, Upper Newtownards Road and Beersbridge Road.
