Labour TD, Aodhán Ó Ríordáin, has expressed his disappointment at Daft.ie's decision to continue their usage of a 'rent allowance filter' on their website.
Speaking this morning, Ó Ríordáin, who is Vice Chair of the Education & Social Protection Committee, said: "I have written to the Committee Chair, Joanna Tuffy, to invite Daft.ie to come before the Social Protection Committee to explain their decision to maintain a 'rent allowance filter' on their site.
"I am very disappointed that they have refused to agree to the Department of Social Protection's request to remove this filter.
"It is becoming increasingly difficult for people to find suitable accommodation in the rental market and adding additional barriers for social welfare recipients is causing low-income families unnecessary distress."
