Jobs, broadband and fracking were the issues of main concern when SDLP European candidate Alex Attwood canvassed Fermanagh at the weekend.
Mr Attwood said: "I was pleased to be back in Fermanagh this weekend and get an opportunity to speak to voters.
"A consistent theme from people was that they feel let down and left out. Fermanagh people feel abandoned and their main concerns were around jobs, broadband and fracking.
"I explained very clearly that despite what others might say, the SDLP is totally opposed to fracking. We can see no one has been able to demonstrate that fracking can be done safely and responsibly. The damage done to the great heritage, tourism and agriculture industries and their future in Fermanagh is too great.
"While canvassing in Derrygonnelly, Irvinestown, Enniskillen, Tempo and other locations with our candidates, Paul Blake, Patricia Rogers, Brendan Gallagher and John Coyle I heard on the doors the concerns that people have was about jobs and the fears people have for their children's future.
"I saw first-hand the difficulties with broadband and mobile phone cover and I know this is a priority issue for our candidates.
"I told everyone I met in Fermanagh that others have failed them and that this election is all about opportunity for them. The SDLP have the strategy to succeed for the people of Fermanagh in Europe and where the SDLP would be part of the largest grouping in the Parliament with all of the influence and access to power that would bring. This can only benefit the people of Fermanagh."
