Social Development Minister, Nelson McCausland has officially opened the Crèche within the newly extended Footprints Women's Centre in Poleglass.
The £140,000 extension to the Centre was fully funded under the Department for Social Development’s Neighbourhood Renewal Investment Programme. As well as providing places for up to 18 children the new crèche has a separate family room for families in need of additional support.
Minister McCausland said: "This extension will be of tremendous benefit to the women and families who use this facility and enables the Centre to extend the vital community services they provide.
"By helping to remove barriers to employment, such as inadequate access to child care, the centre allows local women to work and improve the quality of life for their family, their extended family and their local community."
