SDC Trailers Scoops £10m Order From Hireco

SDLP Mid Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone has welcomed news Toomebridge firm, SDC Trailers has secured a £10 million order from trailer rental company, Hireco Ltd.

The new contract, which means Hireco will have purchased more than 5,000 trailers from SDC Trailers, and will see trailers manufactured across SDC's engineering facilities at Toomebridge, Antrim and Mansfield over the next six months.

The company has created 170 new posts in the last year, and is expected to increase its turnover to £150million by the end of 2015.

Mr McGlone, who chairs the Assembly's Enterprise committee said: "This is welcome news for SDC Trailers and for the local economy. SDC is clearly a successful company creating much needed jobs.

"This new contract, which extends their relationship with Hireco, should help secure those jobs. This is a vote of confidence in everyone involved with the company, from workforce to management."
