Dublin City Council and McDonald's Ireland have teamed up to form Grafton Street's Clean Team.
McDonald's Grafton Street staff, supplied with cleaning equipment from the council's South East Area Office, carried out a clean-up on the street on Sunday 1st June.
Dublin's Lord Mayor Oisín Quinn said: "McDonald's clean up of Grafton Street is another example of how local business and communities can help Dublin City Council to keep Dublin clean. Grafton Street is hugely important to the city and I would encourage all businesses to play their part in maintaining it."
Dublin City Council provided McDonald's with litter bags, brushes, gloves, shovels and other cleaning equipment and will collect and dispose of the rubbish that is collected.
Dublin City Council is currently repaving Grafton Street in a €4million initiative which includes street furniture and new public lighting. The project is progressing on schedule and is expected to be completed by November 2014.
