Warm Homes Scheme Extension Welcomed

The Warm Homes Scheme has been extended until March 2015.

The scheme was due to end on 18 June, however because of its popularity the Department for Social Development (DSD) has extended it until next year.

Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan said: "Heating your home can be one of the biggest drains on the household budget so any assistance people can access to make their homes more energy efficient is helpful.

"Under the Warms Homes Scheme households may be able to avail of a range of services including cavity wall insulation, loft installation, hot water tank jackets and energy advice

"For homes without oil or gas central heating, there is also the option of installing a new energy efficient system.

"People can call 0800 988 0559 to check if they are eligible."
