Strike Suspended At Roadstone Woods

A leading union has suspended strike action at Roadstone Woods Ltd, manufacturers and suppliers of building materials in Ireland.

SIPTU said the decision was made pending a ballot of members, in accordance with a Labour Court Recommendation.

The strike is following a dispute concerning an attempt by management to implement major cuts to workers’ wages.

SIPTU Organiser, Davy Lane, said: "SIPTU members will now ballot on the proposals contained in the Labour Court Recommendation. The ballot will be conducted on Monday, 7th July, and Tuesday, 8th July. The ballot will be counted on the evening of Tuesday, 8th July. The National Committee has not made any recommendation to members on how they should vote in the ballot."
